The Indian armed forces have started sporadic counter-operations across the Line of Control (LoC) in view of the recent attacks perpetrated by Pakistan.
Exclusive video footage accessed by TIMES NOW shows a Pakistani bunker along the LoC was destroyed post mortar fire – launched by India – near the Krishna Ghati sector, where the neighbours had attacked earlier, killing and mutilating two soldiers of the Indian armed forces.
The bunker was destroyed less the 60 seconds, and Indian soldiers can be heard saying that the target had been hit successfully.
“Sir the shell has hit the target, we have brought it down,” one soldier can be heard saying.
While such cross-border firing has been common along the conflict-ridden Valley region, this attack is one of the first ones by India, after the recent atrocities by Pakistan.
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and top sources from the government had earlier confirmed that the army had been given a free hand to avenge Pakistan’s mutilation act, and India’s army chief had also said that an attack will be conducted at a time of “their choice and preference”.
The attack by the Indian armed forces is a result of Pakistan’s undisrupted atrocities along the LoC, apart from the unending incidents of infiltration in the Valley.
In January, it was reported that 26 soldiers had already died in the Jammu and Kashmir region, and the count has further gone up taking account of the recent incidents of unrest.
In such a scenario, launching such attacks may prove as an effective warning.
